Assam is the single largest tea growing region of the world. This rainy, tropical plain adjacent to Bangladesh and Burma, bordering the Brahmaputra river. Assam tea is low grown and deserves its reputation as one of the worlds strongest, unfailingly full-bodied and prized for a malty characteristic all of its own. All Assam teas produce a sturdy, pungent liquor, orange-red to dark red in colour, which takes well to milk and sugar because of its unusual astringency.. Borpatra tea estate is located in Sibsagar district of Assam and wrapped by the dilli / disang river. Dark black leaves with little hints of golden tips. A Classic Assam, malty, creamy and rich produces a deep red liquor with a malty finish.
