Unfortunately, these compounds have low bioavailability, may irritate gastro-intestinal mucosa and decrease the digestibility of other nutrients. It has a negative effect on the environment by increasing the excretion of unutilized minerals. High dosage inorganic supplementation may pose a threat to the environment.
